Marks Gate & Fanshawe to Get into Action

Do you have something to say on community issues in the Marks Gate and Fanshawe Wards?  Well nowÕs the time to make your views heard.

Groundwork Hackney and The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham are working together in developing Neighbourhood Action Plans for the Marks Gate and Fanshawe Areas.  In order for the Plans to be a success  consultation with the Fanshawe and Marks Gate communities needs to take place.  The NAP can only be as good as the views and ideas people give to it so it is vital that communities take part.

The consultation process is being funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and should aim to:

-       Develop a vision for the two estates.

-   To establish local partnerships and bring people together.

-       To support existing community groups and develop new ones.

-       To involve local organisations in the delivery of public services

-       To train residents and professionals to spread good community practice.

If you are a resident, community group, business, school, youth organisation, religious group or anyone with a link to Marks Gate and Fanshawe who would like to contribute to the development of the NAP, please contact Vicky Tustian / Kay Wagland at Groundwork Hackney 0208 985 1755.

Alternatively, you could attend one of the presentation and discussion evenings to be held 16th & 23rd of Feb 9.30am Ð 3pm at St. Marks Church Hall, Marks Gate and 16th of March at Fanshawe, venue to be announced.
